A few wise quacks... from duck head... And it looks like Larry Scott agrees: Three-point stance: No Pac-10 divisions?   Our take: With expansion of the conference behind us… well, there is that “How do we divide the conference it to two divisions”;  to which I say, DON'T... for a couple of years. Get it right. The clock is not running… but a future judgment on ruining rivalries, the “we need to play in LA once a year” issue, and then there’s all the financials… lots of financials… why not just PAUSE.   Colorado and Utah won’t join for a couple of years. Have them play every pre-existing school; home and away. By then, how to approach division of the conference should be well worked through.  Oh, and maybe in these pre-division years, a larger conference will emerge (four more teams). So, why make divisions now, then redo it again so soon.  At least, that’s what I’m thinking… Conference rengineered:   1.  Conference is better off without those Big 12 schools.   Twelve is great. But, how do you divide the 14 into two groups of six.... which makes me think it will be this: Arizona, Arizona State, USC, UCLA, Stanford, California Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State   2.  Duck track and field... incredible season, but some injuries did not fully heal, which led to some disappointed performances by athletes... the athletes were disappointed.  We could never be disappointed by anyone doing their best. And the memories from this year are ones we will be passing down for generations. Thanks ducks!   3.  Softball... I never really watched very much softball, to be perfectly, or imperfectly honest. This duck team changed that forever!  Their heart really stood out. You have to thank this team for the thrills they gave themselves, and let us go along for the ride!  Thanks ducks!   4.  Baseball, in only it's second year, could you believe what this duck squad accomplished... and never, every would it happen without Coach Horton... he's not satisfied, and that's awesome. But the rest of us can revel and dream of next year, along with this emerging major duck program!!! Thanks ducks!    at least that's what I'm thinking...         duck head
